One Week on the Carnivore Diet
23.09.24
As a Personal Trainer and Food Coach for over 30 years, I’ve never promoted a trend diet without trying it for myself first. So, when Marc had some of his male clients request a Carnivore Nutrition Plan, I thought, “Maybe I should give it a go!”
So i started last Monday, & one week later, here I am, reporting back after exactly 7 days on the plan. On Day 1, I weighed in at 62.9 kg early morning and this morning? 60.4 kg!
So how do I feel? Well, apart from a day or two of feeling a little “odd” (probably my body getting used to no carbs or sugars it was more like a hangover minus the alcohol), I can honestly say I feel brilliant. The last few days, I’ve been energetic, feeling light, and sometimes hungry but not in a bad way. So basicallyI’m loving it so far! ????
My goal wasn’t to lose weight (though I’m not complaining. I really wanted to see how my body reacts to this diet so I can give real feedback to my clients. And trust me, I’m going another week 100% to see how things progress!
Now, before you ask—yes, my willpower is a bit crazy. As a retired bodybuilder who’s competed (and won comps Nationally & Internationally, I’m used to sticking to a plan 100%. That’s just what I do. But I don’t expect everyone to be as strict, because, let’s be real, I’ve been training for this level of discipline for years! Just being strict for a different reason now.
So, what am I eating? Pretty simple actually: Chicken thighs (1-2 serves a day) Eggs (3-4 per serving, poached or as an omelette with some hard cheese), Sirloin steak, Avocado, Butter… and my favourite coconut cooking spray. I have 2-3 main meals per day with maybe 1 snack. Sometimes 2 meals cos I have eaten my dinner steak with my lunch steak - Yip I was starving on Day 2.
Poached eggs cooked in Coconut cooking spray with grilling cheese & Avocado - not visually beautiful but very yummy.
I’ll keep you posted on how Week 2 goes! If you’re curious about Carnivore Nutrition or have questions, then flick me a message. I shall post some guidelines on the actual diet soon. If you are interested in your own plan, just flick me a message Link Here .
Before I finish up - here are some of the positive things I have written for myself to think about every morning before work and while I have my coffee. Enjoy your Monday.

Seeing how my energy levels evolve on the Carnivore Diet – I’m feeling so awesome after week 1, and I’m excited to see how much more energy I get feeling lighter in the days ahead.

Training my clients – Nothing makes me happier than seeing the progress and excitement from my clients, especially as we head into another great week of training.

Feeling stronger in my workouts – I’m looking forward to seeing how my strength holds up in the gym, especially with the added focus on high protein and fat intake from the Carnivore plan.
